Job Purpose / Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent, Reliability to lead our reliability section and drive the performance and availability of our plant equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing effective strategies and programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting root cause analysis, and optimizing maintenance strategies. As the Superintendent, Reliability, you will play a crucial role in enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute reliability improvement strategies to optimize plant equipment performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, providing guidance and support for successful implementation of reliability initiatives.
  • Establish proactive asset management practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to minimize equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues through corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate recurring issues and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Manage the reliability budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation aligned with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of spare parts and materials for maintenance and repairs.
  • Implement reliability tools and methodologies, such as failure modes and effects analysis and reliability-centered maintenance, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in reliability engineering, incorporating them to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Ensure alignment of reliability initiatives with environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations, collaborating with the EHS team.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary operations and teams, providing expertise on reliability considerations for equipment upgrades and installations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the reliability knowledge and skills of maintenance and operations personnel.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on equipment reliability performance, including key metrics, improvement initiatives, and recommendations for management review.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field. Additional certifications or training in reliability engineering are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 13 to 15 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the Petrochemical or Chemical industry.

Job Skills / Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated expertise in reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, inspiring and guiding reliability engineers and technicians towards achieving goals.
  • Experience in developing and implementing reliability improvement programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Proficient in conducting data analysis and generating insightful reports to inform decision-making and improve equipment performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify and address reliability issues.
  • Effective collaboration and communication across departments and organizational levels, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared goals.
  • In-depth understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations, ensuring their integration into reliability initiatives.
  • Project management expertise in overseeing capital projects related to equipment reliability enhancements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, staying informed about emerging trends and applying new knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in providing supervision, evaluation, training, and motivation to a high-performing team.
